You have stated that you wish to take a medication for your symptoms of genital herpes. Be the sole judge of effectiveness and your doctor has the best decision of no-where-up-well judgment answer to your question. This medication is considered safe for you to use and works well if you're sexually active. You have been prescribed an oral dose of antiviral medicine called aciclovir (Zovirax). Acyclovir is an oral prescription medicine that you take as a tablet or capsule. Take aciclovir orally with each dose of Zovirax. Be sure to take Zovirax at least 1-3 hours before or 6-8 hours after you take aciclovir. Zovirax is considered effective for 5-7 days after you take aciclovir. If you miss a dose of Zovirax, take it as soon as you remember it. If it's almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to the regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Do not take Zovirax if you are allergic to aciclovir, valaciclovir, or any other ingredients in aciclovir. Talk to your doctor if you have any other medical conditions, are pregnant or breast-feeding, and have noticed a decrease in your genital herpes symptoms.
If you're taking aciclovir to treat herpes labialis, always follow the instructions on the packaging. If you notice any side-effects such as pain, blistering, or white spots on your lips or face, stop taking aciclovir and contact your doctor right away.
This medication may cause a drop in blood pressure. If you experience dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, or if you feel unwell, stop taking aciclovir and stop taking Zovirax immediately and seek emergency medical attention. You may need to use more courses of treatment but, unless there is a fast track increase in effectiveness, this is a medicine that may be prescribed to you.
It's important to keep all appointments with your doctor with the time when you have herpes symptoms. Eye and eye tests are recommended to help you and your doctor know when to take a risk and take it when you can/care about it.
If it's almost time for the next dose of Zovirax, skip the missed dose and go back to the regular dosing schedule and do not take 2 doses at once.
Keep in mind that Zovirax may increase your risk of another herpes virus you have. To prevent another herpes virus from occurring, you should not use aciclovir or any other medications that contain magnesium.
If you're using antiviral medicine to treat herpes labialis, avoid taking any antiviral medicine such as ganciclovir or famciclovir (guyen quid anti-nausea). You may need to use antiviral medicine for 5-7 days after you start on a course of antiviral medicine called aciclovir. If you notice any side-effects such as dizziness or blisters on your lips or face, stop taking aciclovir and stop taking Zovirax and get medical help right away.
This medication can decrease your blood pressure. If you experience any side-effects not listed in the above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
If you experience dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, or unwellness when taking aciclovir, you should not drive a car or operate machinery. You and your doctor will need to increase your caution or to get medical help if you experience symptoms of a suspected drop in blood pressure after you start taking aciclovir. You may need to use more courses of treatment of treatment for 5 days after you start on a course of antiviral medicine called aciclovir.
If you experience blistering or peeling of the skin, avoid using antiviral medicine and let your doctor or pharmacist know. It can cause an increase in the amount of active ingredients in the medicine that are absorbed. It can make the medicine less effective over time.
